The Asian Centre of French Culinary Excellence

  • International students can transfer into the Institut Lyfe (Ex-Institut Paul Bocuse) program in the Spring after they have completed one full year in our Culinary Arts program.

Studying for the Institut Lyfe Executive Education Bachelor’s will set you apart from other culinary programs. As the most renowned culinary institute in Europe, you will participate in one of the fastest-growing foodservice industries and enjoy the highest level of food culture available. This program provides students with the skills and knowledge to set-up and operate a fine dining restaurant and manage its culinary operations. This program will prepare you for a career as a high-level, creative, and innovative manager working in the kitchen, patisserie, and culinary events sectors.

Partnering with the prestigious culinary institute, Institut Lyfe Executive Education, France, Woosong University provides students an excellent opportunity to earn an esteemed European culinary technical diploma within four years. You will not only learn but also get to experiment with your skills with practical classes in our state-of-the-art, million-dollar kitchens. Your education gets enhanced by being placed in two six-month internships during your college career, which may be completed overseas or in Korea. This enables you to achieve your ambitions by taking your passion and creativity to new heights.

After completing this rigorous program, students receive two certificates – a Technical French Culinary Arts Certificate from Institut Lyfe Executive Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts Management from Woosong University.

Progression Opportunities:
Students can progress to complete a French Bachelor’s degree in International Culinary Arts Management at Institut Lyfe (formerly Institut Paul Bocuse), France, on the 4th year;
Applicants will be required to meet the minimum entry equirements specified for the course, as stipulated by InstitutLyfe for admission.

Career Opportunities:
The managerial approach acquired will enable the students to contribute as soon as they enter the workforce, based on team spirit, leadership, communication, analysis, and decision-making. They will quickly gain autonomy in managing a kitchen, a brigade, a product, or a culinary project. A wide variety of careers at the heart of our industry are available: head chef, executive chef, owner-chef, private chef, events caterer, business creator, quality auditor, culinary consultant, trainer, sales manager, purchasing manager, and culinary stylist.

THE ALLIANCE NETWORK

The Institut Lyfe Executive Education-WSU Department of Woosong University is also a member of the Alliance. The Alliance network is a unique leading global network of excellence in higher education gathering 26 partner schools and universities across 4 continents. Its goal is to promote and develop the professions in hospitality, food service and culinary arts management while keeping the cross-educational experience as a fundamental pillar.
It is separate from the programs offered by Lyfe Executive Education and is designed as a way for schools to work together, learning, and sharing best practices.
The program also gives 50 students from Alliance member schools a unique opportunity to share an international experience in Lyon, France. A 10-week program during the Spring-Summer season brings Alliance students to the Institut Lyfe campus to study, share, and benefit from an international experience. Coursework helps students perfect their technical skills and discover French culture, while sharing their own culture with other participants.

Our university selects some of the best students to attend the Alliance program each year through a highly competitive process. Students earn academic credits during the Alliance program, but those who would like to participate in this program are responsible for their own airfare, tuition, and dormitory fees. Culinary Arts Kitchen Attire & Books

In addition to the fees paid as part of general admission, additional costs are required to allow a student’s participation in all department functions. The Culinary Arts department requires standardization of uniforms and dress related to the department. For Culinary Arts & the Institut Lyfe Executive Education programs, fees for uniforms and knives require the following purchases (totaling approximately US$ 500) after arriving at the University:
