Why Choose Culinary Arts?

If you have ever wondered what good cuisine is or want to learn to create amazing cuisine, our Culinary Arts department may be the place for you. We have created a curriculum that provides the best education in culinary arts in Asia. We believe that all good Chefs should be able to cook a variety of cuisines, so we have created a comprehensive culinary program that combines the best of European and Asian cooking with hands-on skills development. You will learn to use modern, cutting-edge culinary applications found in five-star hotels and top-class foodservice operations around the world. You will work with leading culinary brands from France, Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Emirates. You will be laying the groundwork for your future as a Michelin star chef.

A degree in culinary arts offers more than an education in cooking fundamentals, it offers a wealth of opportunities in an exciting, fast-paced, and growing industry. Experienced food and beverage experts with an international perspective and English language skills are in high demand throughout the industry. Our program was created in 2014 to address this demand and nurture young culinarians along the path to successful global careers. Our faculty understand that today’s students seek personal growth and appreciate the value of intercultural exchange. Our students learn about more than food preparation; they also study business operations, restaurant management, wine and spirits, communications, and customer service.

A diverse international faculty have access to our state-of-the-art kitchens and classrooms to teach all Culinary Arts classes. Our hands-on curriculum is presented entirely in English and prepares students for employment and leadership in the culinary industry. Students can also earn certifications in several specialized industry programs. In addition, our Culinary Arts program is building internship and cooperative learning opportunities for our students with world-class hotels and resorts, cruise lines, and educational institutions throughout Asia and the world.

This is especially important as you start your post secondary education studies. This career requires high levels of professional culinary & communication skills to produce foods in various specialized restaurants, hotels, and events. Our Culinary Arts program prepares you for a job as a global chef with the following:
Minor: Global Culinary Operation Track Significant Subjects: Culinary Fundamentals, Intro to Kitchen Management, Western Cuisine, Food & Wine Pairing, Global Breakfast, Banquet & Special Functions
Certificate: Cooking Technician, Food Coordinator, Bakery & Bakery Technician:
With this training, you can look forward to gaining employment as a chef, food coordinator, restaurant manager, or party planner.
This career requires high levels of expertise in confectionery, baking, and desserts, as well as coffee. To ensure graduates are ready for a job in the Pastry & Bakery Field, our Culinary Arts program prepares you with these skills as well as the ability to produce food and run a business with the following:
Minor: Global Baking & Pastry Track Significant Subjects: Beverage Appreciation, Introduction to Baking & Pastry, Introduction to Wine & Spirits, Baking & Pastry Cafe Operation, Food & Wine Pairing, Contemporary Plated Desserts
Certificate: Pastry & Baking Technician, International Bartender, Barista:
With this training, you can look forward to gaining employment as a pastry chef, sommelier, barista, or bartender.
This career requires you to be able to understand and produce various foods (Korean, Chinese, Japanese, confectionery, & specialty items) in order to create the right balance within your own menu. Our program does this and gives you an understanding of professional cooking technology/equipment which prepares you for a job as an owner/chef with the following:
Significant Subjects: A la Carte Menu Préparation, Korean Cuisine, Meat & Seafood Fabrication, Garde Manger, Health & Dietary Cuisine, Modern Korean Cuisine
Certificate: Cooking Technician, Bakery & Bakery Technician, Cooking Industry Technician:
With this training, you can look forward to gaining employment as a restaurant owner (owner/chef), hotel restaurant manager or cook, or as a professional catering company manager.
This career requires high levels of professional culinary & communication skills to produce foods in various specialized restaurants, hotels, and events. Our Culinary Arts program prepares you for a job as a global chef with the following:
Significant Subjects: Commissary Operation, Cafe Operations, Intro to Entrepreneurship & Marketing, Human Resource Management, Food Service Finance & Accounting, Concept Implementation Project
Certificate: Cooking Industry Technician, Restaurant Management Manager:
With this training, you can look forward to gaining employment as a food stylist, hotel & restaurant consultant, or as a menu development expert.

Culinary Arts Kitchen Attire & Books

In addition to the fees paid as part of general admission, additional costs are required to allow a student’s participation in all department functions. The Culinary Arts department requires standardization of uniforms and dress related to the department. For Culinary Arts & the Institut Paul Bocuse programs, fees for uniforms and knives require the following purchases (totaling approximately US$ 500) after arriving at the University:
