Last Wednesday, Woosong University’s Global Culinary Arts students launched the “Taste of Ulleung” Lunchbox Project, creating modern lunchboxes inspired by Ulleungdo’s unique local ingredients.
From bujigaengi greens and red potatoes to island lily and giant angelica, students from Korea, Russia, and Indonesia developed creative menus that celebrated sustainable regional food culture—guided by the Heyum Sustainable Research Institute.
The final Ulleungdo Heritage Lunchbox was unveiled at a campus workshop, showcasing innovative dishes that reinterpreted the island’s flavors using global techniques.
