Students from Woosong University’s Department of Global Culinary Arts have published their third student-produced cookbook: Taste of Daejeon, created as part of the Styling and Plating course for third-year Global Culinary Arts majors.
This year’s edition centers around Daejeon, the city many Woosong students, particularly international students and those from other regions of Korea, encounter for the first time through food. The project challenged students to explore how cuisine shapes their earliest impressions of the city and connects them to its local culture.
The cookbook brings together a rich collection of student perspectives, featuring:
- Personal food memories from their first days in Daejeon
- Stories of discovering local ingredients at traditional markets such as Jungang Market
- Dishes prepared collaboratively during class
- Reflections on restaurant explorations across the city
- Original recipes created using Daejeon-sourced ingredients
In addition, students from six different countries share their insights on 2025 global food trends, translating those trends into creative styling and plating concepts showcased throughout the book.
The cookbook is published on Amazon on the 5th Jan 2026, and all proceeds will be donated to Woosong University to support future student development initiatives. Find the book at the link here: https://amzn.to/45Is0jg
