Living In Korea Made Simple Fall 2023: Time Management 첨부파일

Hello students,

The International Administrative Center is planning a series of workshops to help international students, especially new students, integrate into life and society in Korea and at university.  This program will give students an opportunity to learn from faculty who have lived in Korea for many years and to share their experiences with each other.

Living In Korea Made Simple:  Time Management will take place on Week 12 of the Fall 2023 Semester, from 2023.11.27 - 2023.11.30.  Each session will be at 1800 and run to 1845

Professor Elizabeth White presents Session 1 - Know Yourself - Work Smarter  This is a practical based session that has the aim of getting students to think about their own personal values (things that guide behaviors, decisions, and actions) and work values (things that make us happy or unhappy at work) with the aim of helping them to become more focused on what they want to achieve and getting them to think about where they should concentrate their efforts to help them reach their future goals.

Professor Bruce Choi presents Session 2 – Entrepreneurship and Career Planning This presentation will focus on proper time management regarding the students post-university careers.  This presentation will focus on analysis of capabilities, the job decision process, global business capabilities, and core competencies so students can maximize their time during their job search by understanding what employers are looking for.

Professor Gregory Gresko presents Session 3 – Study Skills This presentation will focus on proper time management in balancing study needs vs. free time and engagement of personal hobbies. Part of the presentation will examine study techniques and learning / memory strategies for helping codify new information into the long-term memory through the engagement of the relevance principle. Finally, the presentation will address the important question of proper self-care (nutrition, sleep) within the student's life-work balance.

Professor Gregg Landsman presents Session 4 – Making Time for Hobbies This presentation will also focus on proper time management in balancing study needs vs. free time, but focusing on finding time for personal hobbies.  Part of the presentation will focus on how to manage what free time students have to better relieve stress and help their mood.  It will focus on what activities they can find in Daejeon, and how to figure out the easiest, cheapest, and fastest ways to find them.
