Activity-based Intensive English Program (AIEP) at Woosong University offers students a variety of clubs, ranging from Taekwondo, Food and Beverage, Event Organizing, Photography, Busking, K-Pop dancing, and much more. These clubs allow students to build community during their studies and connect students to larger audiences. On September 28th, Sejong Arboretum invited the AIEP clubs again to collaborate, making it the second partnership and allowing students to share their talents with the public.
Four AIEP clubs – Busking, K-Pop Dancing, Photography, and Events – came together with a total of 40 students to make the event a success. The Busking and K-Pop clubs set up a lively radio DJ booth, taking music requests from the audience, sharing stories, and entertaining the crowd with engaging performances. Meanwhile, the Events Club managed media and behind-the-scenes support, to ensure everything ran smoothly, and the Photography Club captured the event’s special moments through photos and video.
The park had an estimated 10,000 visitors that day, many of whom stopped by to enjoy the performances and activities put on by our AIEP clubs. The Sejong Arboretum supported the collaboration, by renting lanterns to the park visitors for ambiance, mats for seating, and open spaces for the performances, creating a welcoming and lively atmosphere.
Reflecting on the experience, one of the leaders in the Busking Club member shared:
“Successful events rely on constant communication and teamwork among clubs and members. Collaborating with so many people has taught me the value of mutual respect and shared goals, as well as the importance of enjoying the process together while committing our time, effort, and responsibility to bring the event to life.“
