We are pleased to be able to share information about the August 2023 Graduation Ceremony (also known as Commencement Ceremony). Nearly 750 students will be graduating from undergraduate, master and doctorate programs. Congratulations to all those graduating! 

Students planning to attend the ceremony can read on for more details as well as some additional announcements.

Graduation Ceremony

Here are the details of the ceremony:

Name: Woosong University Graduation Ceremony (우송대학교 2023년 8월 학위수여식)

Location: Woosong Arts Center (W18)

Date & Time: 2023.08.18 (Fri) 11:00 KST

- Please arrive by 10:30 KST to ensure a smooth ceremony. Latecomers may not be accommodated. 

- You are advised to use public transport on the day as the campus will be very busy. 

- The dress code is formal.

- Whilst attending ceremonies and taking photos, please continue to follow prevailing COVID-19 regulations. Consider not attending if you do not feel well.

- Refer to your academic department for further details. 

Graduation Gown Rental

Graduating students may rent a gown for the ceremony and for commemorative photo taking. Collection will be on 2023.08.18 (Fri) from 09:30 to 10:30 KST, in W19 main lobby. Gown return is on the same day 2023.08.18 (Fri) 14:00-16:00 KST at W19 218. Gown rental is free, however graduating students must present a valid ID, such as a Woosong University Student Card. There may be a charge if the gown is lost or damaged, so ensure you return it.

Graduation Degree Collection & Mailing

Graduation Degree collection, including any awards, certificates (for example for high GPA), will be from 2023.08.18 (Fri) 13:00-18:00 KST directly from International Administrative Center (W19 218). Graduation Degrees cannot be reissued, so keep it carefully.

Certificates, such as Academic Transcript, will also be available for printing from the certificate printing machines in W7 and W1 and online from the same date and time. 

If you cannot collect in person, Graduation Degrees can be mailed to you. Please provide your details here.

Note: If a friend/relative is collecting your Graduation Degree on your behalf, ensure your friend/relative has evidence of your consent to them collecting it for you, e.g., an email or letter.

Note: If you cannot complete the above Google Form in the country where you are located, please email your TA.

Note: Graduation Degrees will only be mailed after 2023.09.01 (Fri) at the earliest, so you should give a mailing address where you are able to receive the Graduation Degree after this date. We can only mail Graduation Degrees if the name, address (including postcode/zip code), telephone number and email address are completed fully and accurately. If you do not complete this form by 2023.08.15 (Tue) 12:00 KST, we will assume you are collecting your Graduation Degree in-person and do not want it mailed to you.

Visa Expiry & Extension

The Visa Office would like to remind students that upon Graduation, visas will soon expire. (1) If you are continuing your study at Woosong University, please visit the Visa Office before the beginning of the new semester to renew your visa. (2) If you are planning to move to another visa, for example D10 (Job Seeker), or moving to study at another university, you must visit Korea Immigration Service to renew your visa. (3) If you are not staying in Korea, check the expiry date printed on the Residence Card (ARC) and ensure you have left the country by that date.
