Writer : IAC | Date : 2022.11.14 | Hit : 2,037

The Track Minor/Minor Registration Period, for international students who have not registered for a track minor/minor, is annouced. Please see below for more information about track minors/minors and how to register.

Minors are divided into two types, as follows (students choose one only):
i. Track Minor: complete courses prescribed by the department you have applied for. There will not normally be any time conflict between department classes and track classes.
ii. Minor: complete courses from another department as your minor. Students are responsible for ensuring no time conflicts and that they complete all credits before graduation.

A minor/track minor are credits taken in a specialised discipline, or from another department, that you need to finish in order to graduate from university. This allows students to learn new skills and extend their learning. They are mandatory for most students and are completed during the second and third year. Track minors/minors consist of 18 credits overall. Hence, it is really important for students to register and finish all the credits as it makes up a major component of the graduation requirement.

Application Procedure

Track Minor/Minor Application Period: 2022.11.14 (Mon) ~ 2022.11.25 (Fri) 17:00 KST.

(1) Choose one from the List of Track Minors & Minors

(2) Apply for Track Minor: https://info.wsu.ac.kr (remember to use Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer Mode). Refer to the attached guide. OR Apply for Minor Using 'Application for Minor Form' and return to your TA by email.

Year 2, 3 and 4 Students: Complete 'Track Minor & Minor Application Form' and return to your TA by email.

Take careful note of the following important information:
Track minor/minor are not 'extra credits', they count towards the credits a student is able to take each semester and the credits needed for graduation
If a student changes their mind about track minor/minor, credits will not be carried over to the new minor (unless the track minor/minor is discontinued).
Regardless of what track minor/minor is chosen, some departments require interview or prerequisite requirements so an application may not be accepted.
The earlier a student applies, the more time there will be to resolve any issues resulting from unsuccessful application, so apply early.
Transfer Students and students only in Korea for one semester on Exchange/Study Abroad/Visiting do not need to apply.
For any advice on how to select track minor/minor or the content of the track minor/minor, speak to the relevant academic advisor or department chair.
