From May 19–22, Woosong University had the honor of being one of the selected institutions worldwide to host the Sari-Sari Xchange, a Canadian research team from McMaster University and York University.

This three-day workshop focused on XR technology and 3D object scanning, with a goal of cultural preservation and game design. Students gained practical experience with tools used in animation, cinema, game development, and mixed reality—equipping them to create their own 3D assets and share cultural stories through digital media.

The workshop connected Korean and international students to Daejeon as a meaningful learning environment, while also helping them apply their knowledge to real-world, socially impactful contexts.

Through talks and hands-on activities, students explored the industry use of 3D scanning and modeling, and imagined new possibilities for their creative and professional paths.

We’re deeply grateful to the Sari-Sari team for choosing Woosong as a host and for generously sharing their knowledge with our Media and Communication Arts students. With the support of Professor Wilmink, ongoing virtual collaboration and mentorship opportunities are being discussed.
